Our sisters in Presque Isle do a good deed.

Three Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority Sisters of Kappa Mu Chapter at UMaine Presque Isle, joined forces with employees at Wal-Mart and were able to fund raise over $1,400 for a Walmart worker who had been battling breast cancer. Jenni Lyn LaChance, Ashley Gallup and Jessica Chase came up with a plan to raise money to help their coworker with her everyday expenses.

On Friday, Presque Isle Wal-Mart employees were given the chance to wear pink shirts and jeans instead of their typical blue shirts and khakis. Those who wore the Pink shirts donate a small amount in order to wear the pink shirts, with all the proceeds going to the coworker with cancer. Mrs. LaChance was able to visit the ill coworker and donate the funds that was raised in her name. She was so overjoyed by the efforts the Kappa Mu Chapter sisters and the Wal-Mart employees put in the endeavor and she was visibly emotional. Mrs. LaChance says "I want everyone to know that even the things we take for granted can make the big differences for others."
